The table is carried on a slotted arm, and can be resolved so that any part of the table can be bought under the point of the drill; also the standard is made to move radially on the base.

These movement gives great scope and convenience, and will be found valuable in use.

It is self-acting in its feed, and the general formation is rigid, and the workman-ship and material good.

This tool Fig. 2, is a small bench drill with rising table, carried on a swinging arm, adjustable vertically and laterally on the pillar.

The table carrying the work is moved uopwards by pressure on the lever connected with it, either by the left elbow or by a wire connected to the foot, its own weight causint it to return, when pressure is relieved.

It has two rates of speed, the change from quick to slow being effected by moving the collar carrying sliding key, upwards and reversing this for again changing from slow to quick speed.

A centre mark is made on the bosses of the pinions, and when these are in line the key can slide from one pinion to the other.

By removing the drill head from the the pillar, it can be used as a breast drill. This toll can, therefore, be used either as a table drill or as a breast drill, the combination being effected in a very compact form.
