Barnes #4 Bernhard's
I have finally put my # 4 W.F. Barnes lathe together.
The head stock that was with the lathe is not a Barnes but a Harding, and was missing the shaft retaining piece with nut.
I had a very good Tool/clock maker to make the required parts for it,
The day after i picked up the head, i had time to put everything together.
this quit a job with the velocipede parts and chain, everything was taken of for transport.
The same day i did try it out ( only freewheeling) and it felt good with only a few splashes of oil going everywhere.
The next day i put some cats iron in it, the only thing laying a round, and did a few adjustments and it went reasonably fine.
The machine needs cleaning, but i still put some pictures in for everybody to see, later when clean i will make some more and maybe a short film.
Bernhard.
as usual the internet speed is to slow to upload pictures, it pisses me of that this is happening all the time.
But with a government that is slack and sits on there hands i can't do nothing about it.
